U.K. BORN ELECTRIC GUITARIST, WHO ROSE TO FAME WITH ELTON JOHN’S CLASSIC 70’s BANDS AND HALL AND OATES, IS OUT AND ABOUT WITH HIS POWERHOUSE BAND “THE FACULTY” AND THEY ARE ‘ALL THE WAY LIVE’
Caleb Quaye’s re-emergence into public recognition has been as steady, solid and warmly welcomed as a reunion with a cherished friend.
And as he re-emerges, he’s piecing together accomplishments on a steadily upward jazz track.
The successful release of 2010’s “Out Of The Blue” for which the band was nominated for a Hollywood Music In Media Award, lays down the very essence of what Quaye and the band are today; no wonder Gorov Music Marketing in Las Vegas had no trouble garnering significant traditional and Internet radio airplay, as well as The Weather Channel. The title track can be heard on the Anaheim/Orange County California Board of Tourism’s latest campaign “Travel Matters”
A separate Internet radio campaign in conjunction with Smoothjazz.com also brought Caleb’s music to fresh ears and familiar ones alike.
Many of those “Out Of The Blue” CD buyers were no doubt inspired to hear more after seeing the band perform at clubs like the legendary Spaghettini’s in Seal Beach, CA, the landmark Alvas Showroom in San Pedro, CA, and at 94.7 The Wave’s Saturday night jazz series at Minx in Glendale, CA just to name a few. Caleb And The Faculty have performed at the giant NAMM Show at the Anaheim Convention Center for the past 2 years and have already been invited back next year, a gig that will become an annual tradition.
Caleb has turned up on video and film recently as well: interviewed for the BBC documentary about Elton John, “ Madman Across The Water” and also discussing Elton on the hit Japanese TV show “Song To Soul- “Your Song” episode. You can also hear Caleb backing up Elton on some of his biggest hits in the new hit movie “Gnomeo & Juliet”
“All The Way Live” the band’s most recent CD was recorded at Alvas Showroom and slated for release on July 18, 2011.
As Daryl Hall himself puts it:
“Caleb Quaye is a very versatile guitar player. He can do a lot of different things, rock, R&B, even progressive. In the studio, and live performances as well, his style fit with what I was doing. His guitar playing is effortless.”
Truly this is a man and a band to watch. To enjoy. To celebrate.
